LookAtVietnam – A plan for 2009-10 to create learning environments in which students are active participants was signed yesterday, August 3.

Education for all children is one of the five main goals set in the plan.

The plan will see co-operation between the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the HCM Communist Youth Union, the Women’s Union, as well as the Viet Nam Study Encouragement Society.

Education for all children is one of the five main goals set in the plan.

Teaching methodology is set to be updated so that it encourages the creativity and independence of students, as well as enhances their life skills. Folk games and songs will also be introduced into curriculum among other activities to protect and develop cultural heritage.

The Women’s Union will be responsible for identifying children facing difficulties attending school due to lack of cooking, clothes and study materials.

This process will be started nationally before August 15th, so that these children can get the needed support in time for their school year which starts in September.
