LookAtVietnam – The card “Gratitude to teachers” made from 15,000 pink lotuses came into sight on the afternoon of November 12.

The card has been designed to celebrate the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day on November 20.

Nearly 4,000 students and learners joined the work by making lotuses and writing their thanks to teachers to show their deep gratitude.

The plan to make the largest-ever thank you card was put forward in August 2009. The card will be put on display at the HCM City Youth Culture House on November 20.

“I have never in my life joined such a significant work. My friends and I feel happy,” said Vo Nguyen Thao Tran, a second year student of the Tourism Administration Department.

Tran tried to set aside time to make paper lotuses on weekends and wrote down her well-wishes and feelings on the lotuses.

VATC President Nguyen The Bao said that the lotus has been chosen for the card because the flower is the most suitable symbol for the Vietnamese tradition of venerating teachers. By joining in to construct the card, students can demonstrate their gratefulness to teachers who train Vietnam’s next generations.

The work has been supervised by Vietbook record board to validate the record.
