Power cuts will not occur

Examinees have worried that they must take exams in the hot weather, but EVN has promised that power cuts will not occur to ensure a safe, serious and successful exam environment.

On July 1, 2010, Dang Hoang An, EVN Deputy General Director, instructed area companies to halt power cuts during the national university entrance exams.

Area power companies have been requested to ensure enough power for the exams in July and other important socio-political events. EVN has asserted that power outages will not occur.

Nguyen Anh Vu, an EVN senior executive, noted that, in case of an emergency, area power companies will lend high capacity electric generators to exam rooms.

Universities offer rooms

To create the most favourable conditions for examinees, four big universities, including the HCM City National University, the University of Education, the University of Transport and the Economics University have decided to offer thousands of rooms at low prices.

According to HCM City National University, the university has 3000 rooms for examinees and their relatives costing just 10,000-20,000 dong per day. Meanwhile, other universities offer rooms for just 5,000-10,000 dong per day.

No traffic jams

Le Toan, Deputy Director of HCM City Transport Department, has instructed units that are installing barricade to tidy up their work and nearby areas prior to July 2.

During exam days, the department will send staff to different locations to ensure that no examinee will be late to an exam because of the barricades.

Transportation inspectors will take inspection tours during exam days and will heavily punish units that do not obey instructions.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Van of HCM City Police explained that policemen will be on duty during exam days, present on the streets from 5:30 am onward to regulate traffic. They will ensure smooth traffic and prevent examinees from arriving late to exams because of traffic congestion.

Meanwhile, the Hanoi Transport Department has announced two telephone hotlines (043 8217922 and 0913303599). Transportation inspectors will be on duty to ensure good traffic for examinees in the capital city.
