A massive concrete beam at a construction site fell from a height on a car in Ho Chi Minh City Wednesday, seriously injuring three members of a family, two of whom are in critical condition. | |||||||
The beam, 10.7m long and weighing more than more four tons, was being lifted by a crane when the hook broke. It fell on the car on Nguyen Van Linh Street in District 7, said a worker of the China-owned How Yu Construction Vietnam Co., which is building a tunnel from Phu My Bridge to Nguyen Van Linh Street. Mai Xuan Thinh, 30 and his two-year-old daughter Mai Phan Hong Phuc were rushed to the Viet-France Hospital while his wife, whose name has not been released, was taken to the Cho Ray Hospital with what police said were even more serious injuries. .
