Vietnamese students will participate in the 4th LAWASIA International Moot Competition in Ho Chi Minh City in November.

It will be Vietnam’s first foray into the contest since it was started in 2005 by Law Asia, an international organization of lawyers and others that focuses on the interests and concerns of the legal profession in the Asia-Pacific region.

From November 9-11, students from HCMC Law University and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam will hear and arbitrate in a dispute between an incorporated body and a sovereign government on matters governed by the Law of the Sea and international laws on cultural heritage protection.

The hearing, which will coincide with Law Asia’s 22nd conference in HCMC from November 9-12, will be conducted in English and attended by teams from nearly 20 law schools in the US, Australia, India and elsewhere.
