LookAtVietnam – Historic monuments like the Hoa Phong and But towers are covered by declarations of undying love by young people.

Located on the bank of the Hoan Kiem Lake, the 3-story Hoa Phong tower from 1842 is the only relic of the Bao An pagoda. This tower is a rare work in the capital, with four arched gates and four faces in the second story with eight-sign figures.

However, this ancient tower has become a place for young people to declare their love to each other. They, mainly students, use inks of different colors to write expressions of adoration on the outside and inside tower walls.

“I love you,” “Together forever” along with “I wish to pass the university entrance exams” are written along with the date.

Although it is located on the peak of the Doc Ton Mountain, Thap But tower, built about 150 years ago on the banks of Hoan Kiem Lake, is also a favorite place for young people to “take notes.”

Historic places are not the only location to advertise a couple’s love. Even a kids’ playground in Thong Nhat park is covered with “love words.”
