No casualties were reported after a fierce fire destroyed a paint warehouse Monday morning.

The fire, which broke out at a Phuc Thanh Company storage unit, was accompanied by a series of explosions as paint cans combusted. It took 100 firefighters nearly three hours to extinguish, according to the police.

Police have begun investigating the cause and have estimated material losses at billions of dong.

On the same morning, another fire in the central province of Quang Tri burned down a 1,000-square-meter charcoal workshop at the local Hai Lang Cassava Starch Factory.

Huu Kien, a Hai Lang employee who was the first to discover the fire, said it started in a charcoal oven and spread quickly through the whole workshop.

It took three hours to put the fire out and no injuries were reported.
