Typhoon Mirinae is forecasted to hit the central Vietnam on November 2. The Prime Minister sent three working groups to the central region to supervise actions against the storm.

The first group, led by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, chief of the Central Steering Board for Flood and Storm Control, went to provinces from Khanh Hoa to Binh Thuan.

The second group, chaired by lieutenant general Nguyen Son Ha, chief of the office of the National Committee for Searching and Rescuing, has been to provinces from Phu Yen to the north.

The third group, led by officials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, is in charge of flood prevention for hydro-power reservoirs in the central region.

The Foreign Ministry has sent diplomatic notes to neighbouring countries, asking their help to Vietnamese fishermen who seek for shelter from the Mirinae.

The government asked central provinces to evacuate their residents from dangerous areas before 12pm, November 11. They were also asked to take urgent measures to prevent possible losses caused by the storm.

According to weather forecasters, strong winds of levels 6-10 will hit the sea from Quang Ngai to Binh Thuan on November evening. Downpours will fall in central provinces from Thua Thien – Hue city to Binh Thuan.
