VietNamNet Bridge – The first rice festival in Vietnam will be delayed from November 11 to December 2 instead of November 26-30 as scheduled.

So far, businesses from 30 provinces and cities have registered to take part in the rice festival in the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang, with more than 400 stalls.

Of the stalls, there will be nearly 100 stalls displaying Vietnamese rice plus 90 stalls in the programme to bring Vietnamese goods to the rural areas,

The festival will include an exhibition area for Vietnam’s rice of 1800sq.m, an indoor exhibition area of 600sq.m introducing rice planting models in the northern, the central and the southern regions of Vietnam and farm tools.

There will also be an area for displaying agricultural equipment and machinery and seedlings of 1000sq.m as well as a zone for installation and street arts.

Many national and regional seminars, competitions and cultural events will be organized during the festival.

The event is co-organised by Hau Giang province, the Vietnam Food Association, the Southern Food Corporation, related ministries and Mekong Delta provinces.
