LookAtVietnam – The “Run for Children” will be held at Hanoi’s Thien Quang Lake on the morning of November 22 to raise funds for children suffering from fatal diseases.

After the run, a painting entitled “Flower Hands”, the work of 70 cancer child patients and painter Tran Nhat Thang will be auctioned to raise funds for the Cancer Ward of the Central Pediatrics Hospital in Hanoi.

The organizers expect to welcome over 7,000 participants, including celebrities like Miss Vietnam 2006 Mai Phuong Thuy, Miss World Vietnam Ngo Phuong Lan 2007, singer Tung Duong and Ambassador of Goodwill Joe Ruelle.

The organizing board has already raised over 500 million dong for ailing children. The fund will be sent to the Hanoi Heart Hospital, the Centrla Pedeatrics Hospital and the Vietnam Heart Rhythm Fund to assist poor children suffering from heart disease and cancer.

The run is the follow-up event to the previous nine events known as the Terry Fox Run in Vietnam. Last year 7000 people joined the race, donating more than 500 milllion dong to cancer patients.
