Chinese fishing boat 14062 is released with a warning after being seized for illegally fishing in Vietnamese seas

Border guards in Thua Thien-Hue city Province said Wednesday they had chased off 16 Chinese fishing boats and seized another caught fishing in Vietnamese waters.

On Tuesday morning, the provincial border guards were informed about 17 Chinese boats fishing in the water some 24 nautical miles off the Thuan An coast, at latitude 16O58’ North and longitude 107O45’ East.

Two patrol ships later chased off the Chinese boats in two hours.

Coast guards in Vietnam have reported that many Chinese boats have been caught fishing illegally in Vietnamese waters recently.

They said all the fishermen and boats were released after being informed of the illegality of their actions.
