This is the largest import of faked phones via air unveiled in Vietnam so far in 2009. Most of the products are labeled Nokia 1200 and Nokia 1600.

The HCM City customs agency said that the importer, Phu Thinh Electronics and Telecom Company, accurately declared the number and name of the products, but their origin was unclear.

According to the vouchers, this batch of phones was manufactured in China, but the source of origin on real products is Hungary. Meanwhile, the IMEI numbers on the phones and on the wrappings are not the same.

Nokia Vietnam confirmed that this batch of cell phones is faked and the importer also agreed.
