LookAtVietnam – The storm is moving to the North and it will hit the central provinces of Phu Yen and Binh Dinh, said forecasters.

When the storm approaches the coast, the strongest winds will reach levels 9-12 from Quang Nam to Binh Thuan this noon and afternoon.

At 4am, November 2, Mirinae was around 250km to the East of Quang Ngai-Phu Yen provinces. The strongest winds at the eye were at levels 10-12.

In the next 12 hours, the typhoon will move at the speed of 20-25 kilometers per hour. The typhoon will land in central Vietnam, affecting Quang Ngai to Khanh Hoa, with its eye centered over Binh Dinh – Phu Yen. The typhoon will then weaken to become a tropical depression.

The Central Steering Board for Flood and Storm Control sent an urgent dispatch on early November 2 asking the central provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan to evacuate people living in dangerous areas.
