The Kazuo Itoga Memorial Prize honouring individuals who have made outstanding contribution to the life of the disabled will be presented to two people, including Vietnam’s Vo Thi Hoang Yen.

Having earned a master’s degree on human development from the Kansas University, USA in 2004, Hoang Yen is currently a lecturer at HCM City Open University and the founder and operator of the Disability Resource and Development Programme since 2005 (www.drdvietnam.com).

She also founded and runs an e-library for the disabled as well as a scholarship fund for disabled students.

Hoang Yen left Vietnam for Japan on November 17 to participate in the award ceremony in Shiga, Japan on November 19.

The winners will receive a certificate and JPY1 million.
