LookAtVietnam – Vietnam’s first oil refinery Dung Quat began reducing its capacity at 12am on December 22 ahed of a total closure to fix technical errors before its hand over.

During the three weeks of closure, the Technip contractor group and related sub-contractor will deal with around 100 technical issues.

Nguyen Hoai Giang, general director of the Binh Son Petrochemical Co Ltd, a sub-contractor of the Dung Quat Oil Refinery project, said like other modern oil refineries across the world, it is normal to temporarily close the Dung Quat Oil Refinery at this time.

Besides the technical issues to be fixed during the next three weeks, others will be solved by contractor Technip when the refinery resumes its operations.

Technip has mobilized experts from equipment providers in the UK, France, USA, Germany and Italy.
