Jumping into water of less than 0oC, walking in snow half a meter deep… these were the experiences of five Vietnamese women in the South Pole.

The ship, Clipper Adventurer, carried explorers to the South Pole on November 21. Minh Hong and Thu Thuy, two Vietnamese members, take their first steps on the Antarctic continent.

On November 22, the weather was fine. Members left the ship to row to the shore on zodiac rubber boats.

Explorers jumped into the South Pole Sea, where the water is zero degrees Celsius. The temperature has increased by 3 degrees in the last 50 years.

On the morning of November 23, the ship passed through Lemaire Channel.

On that day, they practiced how to make snow caves to hide themselves like adventurers had done in the past.

They divided into small groups to build tents.

To see penguin nests from a high mountain, the group trekked through snow nearly half a meter deep. Minh Hong took photos with penguins on the mountain peak.

On November 27, the ship hit a 1.5m thick iceberg. Explorers left the ship to walk on the iceberg.

They stood in the shape of number 350 to support the 350.org, the world largest website on climate change.

The Vietnamese groups had six members, including five women: Hoang Thi Minh Hong, Nguyen Lan Anh, Nguyen Phuong Anh, Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy and Nguyen Thi Phuong Ngan.
