The HCM City People’s Court on December 25 tried the four people behind the pornographic website web mocxi.com and sentenced them to a total of 6.3 years in prison.

Only three defendants were present at the trial, including Nguyen Tang Truong, 28, Lam Duong Hieu, 29 and Tong Anh Hoang, 57, all from HCM City. Defendant Nguyen Do Cong, 30, from Hanoi, was absent. All were accused of “diffusing depraved material”.

According to the prosecution agency’s indictment, the four defendants are the key members of the administration of mocxi.com who founded and mastered the porn website.

Defendants confessed their crime at court. Their lawyers proposed suspended sentences but the judges said that their acts were extremely dangerous and caused a negative impact on society so they must be imprisoned.

The judges sentenced two years imprisonment on Nguyen Tang Truong, 1 years and six months on Tong Hoang Anh and Lam Duong Hieu and 1 years and three months on Nguyen Do Cong.
