The Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee on December 22 announced to organize a charity auction to raise funds for the poor in a gala on December 31.

The programme will take place from 8-10pm in Hanoi and HCM City and it will be aired live on VTV2 and HTV9 channels.

Two items will be auctioned live the Lac Hong Cup and the Cup for the Poor. The first cup is made by the Ming Long Ceramic Company. It is 80cm high, 68cm wide, with two dragon-shaped handles, totaling nearly 20kg. This product is made of ceramic, burnt at over 1000oC. All patterns are inlaid with 24 karat gold.

The Cup for the Poor is in the shape of two hands raising a heart. It is made by the Huy Thanh Jewelry Company with high-quality silver and inlaid with 24 karat gold. The heart alone is made of 24 karat gold.

In addition, benefactors can contact the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee at 46 Trang Thi Street, Hanoi, to auction many special items, including a set of urn and flower vases featuring lions playing with balls, a gemstone-made painting featuring little angles in a carnival in Ha Long.

The urn is 1.21m high and the flower vases are 0.67m high, without the supports. They are 170kg in weight. These products are made of brass, silver and red copper with sophisticated patterns.

The gemstone-made painting is 1.84×2m in size, made by the Kim Bao Ngoc company. This painting won the gold cup of the Ministry of Science and Technology at the Techmart ASEAN +3 Fair 2009.

The most special object for auction is a Vespa Piaggio LX 125, an international gift to President Nguyen Minh Triet. The President re-presented this gift to the Vietnam Blind Association.
