| All 51 spring flower markets in the capital city opened on February 3, according to an announcement by the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade.
This year spring flower markets will work for 11 days, from February 3-13, including 16 markets in the inner city and 35 in the outskirts.
The biggest markets are located in the streets of Hang Luoc, Hang Ma, Hang Khoai, the Quang An flower market in Tay Ho district, the market on Nguyen Phong Sac road, Cau Giay district, the Ha Dong market, Dong Anh town market, Binh Da stadium, and some others.
Meanwhile, HCM City’s flower festival will open on February 8, presenting over 8,000 special items like bonsais, flower trees, ornamental fish, etc. This will be the largest flower festival in the city so far.
The festival will have the participation of artists from Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. Contests will be held for gardeners and ornamental fish breeders.
The event will take place at two sites: the Turtle Lake and Tao Dan Park. The Turtle Lake will host several events only. Major activities will be organized at the Tao Dan Park from February 8-21.
While waiting for the flower festival, Saigonees can participate in the Tet Viet festival right now at the HCM City Youth Culture House at 4 Pham Ngoc Thach, District.
The festival is designed with many activities: exhibitions and writing of calligraphic works, unicorn and dragon dancing, modern and traditional music shows and martial art performances.
The festival will run until the fifth day of the lunar New Year, February 15.
