Nearly 1000 overseas Vietnamese will take part in an incense-offering ceremony at the Thang Long Royal Citadel and the President’s banquet in Hanoi next Saturday, February 6.

These events are part of the “Spring in Motherland” program for Viet Kieu on the occasion of the lunar New Year.

A Vietnamese cultural festival will be held at Hanoi’s Bao Son Heaven Park on February 6, where President Nguyen Minh Triet will perform the carp-releasing ritual.

A special performance will gather famous singers from Vietnam and abroad, featuring Hong Nhung, My Linh, Trong Tan, Minh Quan, Truc Linh, Truc Lam and Elvis Phuong.

Video clips about Vietnam’s development and Viet Kieu sentiments about Vietnam will be screened. The show will end with a 15 minute firework show.
