VietNamNet Bridge – A 15-year-old boy from Hanoi’s Ha Dong district came to Central Hospital for Ear-Nose-Throat on April 8 to remove a beetle from his throat.

Doctors made a five-minute minor-operation to remove a beetle as big as a fingertip from his bronchi. They said that the boy was lucky to see doctors, because the living beetle could have gone up or down so that the boy could have had difficulty breathing.
In this case, the beetle moved to the boy’s bronchi, so he didn’t suffer from seriously breathing problems.
Doctors said that they have conducted many minor-operations to take out strange things from throats, but this was the first time they removed a living thing from a patient’s throat.
The boy left hospital on April 11.
