For the past several days, houses on Old Quarter streets like Hang Khay and Hang Dao have been coated with new yellow paint to prepare for the city’s 1000th anniversary.

The front of houses on Hang Dao street are painted yellow on the second floor.

Similarly, the second floors of old houses on Hang Khay street are also covered in yellow.

Workers are busy on the second floor while business still goes on.

It is said that the area attracts tourists for its old houses. Many people think that “renewing” these houses is not a good idea.

Some complained that workers didn’t do their job well so some houses look blurry.

Only the second floors are painted, so some houses have the second floor in yellow and the first in green.
