Thousands of lanterns were released on the Ma River in Thanh Hoa on April 2 to commemorate those who gave their lives during the country’s independence struggle.

45 years ago, US soldiers dropped 350 bombs and 149 rockets on Ham Rong bridge in order to destroy the bridge, cutting the road from the north to the south.
