ViThe Environment Police Agency and Forest Protection Bureau of Thua Thien – Hue city discovered a very big wildlife slaughterhouse in Huong Tra district on the morning of April 1.

At 9am, police and forest rangers made a raid on a house in Thanh Chu village owned by a woman named Nguyen Thi Mai, 45. They caught Mai and her assistant in the act of slaughtering many wild animals.

A frozen civet .

They found many cages of rare wild animals like salamanders, wild boars, copperheads, monkeys, foxes, porcupines, tortoises, and civets in the house. In addition, there were many slaughtered wild animals kept in freezers or packed in plastic bags to transport to restaurants.

Officials state that this is the biggest slaughterhouse for wild animals detected in the province so far. The living animals will be released into nature as soon as possible.
