Major Tang Van Chi from the Engineering High Command revealed that the bomb is 1.54m long, 27cm in diameter and contains 192kg of dynamite. It was found just 1m deep, located only 100m from National Highway 3.

When the bomb was detected, the dynamite’s fuse appeared and the bomb could have exploded at any time. Army engineers quickly defused the bomb.

Military experts speculated that, if the bomb had exploded, even all these years later, it could still have killed people within a 500m radius.

Major Chi confirmed that this bomb was manufactured by the USA and was dropped during the “Dien Bien Phu in the Sky” campaign.
