The pontoon on Hanoi’s Duong River has not worked for three days, causing serious gridlocks on Duong Bridge from 6am until 12am on July 25.Two-lane pontoon reduces traffic load on Duong Bridge. A traffic police officer and two transport inspectors had to perform like circus artists to enter the centre of gridlock and guide vehicles out of the jam. VietNamNet captured some “interesting” moments:

Old women risked hazard to jump out of a coach, swinging themselves along the bridge handrail to escape the traffic jam.

This traffic police officer had to cling to the handrail to enter the gridlock.

This transport inspector became a circus performer, with a whistle on his mouth and a traffic stick on his hand.

Another transport inspector walked along the fence between the railway and the road.

After passing a “dangerous road”, this inspector made it to the centre of gridlock to do his job.
