Transport infrastructure projects face cash crunch

The Ministry of Transport has agreed with the Asian Development Bank’s proposal (ADB) of a loan of $900 million from 2011 to 2013, plus a $200 million loan from the Korean Import-Export Bank, to build Hanoi-Lang Son highway.

The Ministry will ask the government to allocate reciprocal capital for this project.

This highway will start fro Lang Son province’s Huu Nghi border gate and finish at Nhu Nguyet bridge in Bac Ninh province. In the first phase, the highway will include four lanes and it will be six lanes in the second phase.

The highway will be divided in six sections for research and construction.

The Ministry of Transport asked ADB to add the Hanoi-Mong Cai highway to the list of projects that need ADB’s loans.
