Nearly 11,000 people participated in the walk entitled “For peaceful and prosperous ASEAN Community” in Hanoi on August 8. The walk was co-organised by the National ASEAN 2010 Committee and Hanoi authorities on the occasion of the 43^rd ASEAN anniversary, 15^th anniversary of Vietnam’s ASEAN membership, Vietnam’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2010 and Hanoi’s 1000^th anniversary. The walk attracted 5000 members from the Hanoi Union of Friendship Associations, 3000 students from universities in Hanoi, 3000 people from Hanoi’s urban districts and hundred foreigners.
