Le Khac Huynh from HCM City Urban Railway Management Board revealed that some foreign donors have agreed to fund four subway and tramcar projects in the city.

Subway1 from Ben Thanh Market to Suoi Tien (19.7km) will be built by ODA capital from Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). Subway 2 from Ben Thanh to An Suong coach station will be funded by German Reconstruction Bank (KFW), Asian Development Bank (ADB) and European Investment Bank (EIB).

The capital for Subway 5 from Bay Hien crossroad in Tan Binh district to Saigon Bridge in Binh Thanh district will be provided by ODA from the Spanish government.

Vietnamese firm Thanh Danh and Malaysian firm Tietainium Management proposed a 12.5km tramcar route from Bach Dang wharf in District 1 to Mien Tay coach station in Binh Tan district.

Some investors from Thailand, China and the Czech Republic want to invest in Subway 3a, Subway 3b and Subway 4, while a Vietnamese firm - Dat Phuong company – proposed Monorail. 2 in the form of build-operate-transfer (BOT).
