Thang Long – Vietnam’s longest avenue: with a total length of 29 kilometer, this avenue passes Hanoi’s western districts of Tu Liem, Hoai Duc, Quoc Oai and Thach That.

This road was been built in five years. Construction will finish on September 25.

The avenue is 140m wide, with four lanes and two tunnels, 12 crossroads and 13 overpasses. It also has a 20m wide between-line, which will be the space for a future railway.

Vinh Tuy – Vietnam’s widest bridge: The bridge spans the Red River, connecting Long Bien and Hai Ba Trung districts in the city’s eastern gateway.

This is the first bridge that Hanoi invested and built itself at a total cost of 3.6 trillion dong ($189 million).

The construction pace of this project met schedule, but after the bridge was completed one year ago, the road to the bridge in Long Bien district was not available. For the year, vehicles had to use a temporary road to the bridge.

Now the 2.1km road to the bridge has completed and Hanoi has decided to expand the bridge to 38m wide to turn Vinh Tuy into the country’s widest bridge.

Mai Dich-Phap Van road: This 18km belt road runs around Hanoi, from Mai Dich to Pham Hung road – Khuat Duy Tien – Thanh Xuan Nam – Dai Tu bridge – Linh Dam – Phap Van – Thanh Tri. Thanks to this belt road, people can travel from western Hanoi to eastern Hanoi without having traverse the city’s centre.

Hanoi Museum: Located next to the National Convention Centre in Me Tri commune, Tu Liem district, the museum will preserve and showcase artifacts about the history and development of Hanoi.

Designed as an upside pyramid by Germany’s GMP-ILAG, the designer of the National Convention Centre, the two buildings will make a complex with consistent design and a new tourist destination of Hanoi.

The museum will open in early October. The first floor will be home for items of the Ly-Tran-Le dynasties and some antiques excavated from Thang Long royal citadel. The second floor will be space for pre-Thang Long era artifiacts. The third and fourth floors will display the unique cultural heritage of Hanoi’s 1000 years.

Hanoi ceramic road – a World Guiness Record: Artist Nguyen Thu Thuy has turned the dike of Hanoi’s Red River in to a 3950m ceramic painting after nearly three years.

The ceramic road is nearly 4 kilometers long, totaling around 7,000 square meters. Around 95 percent of the painting has been completed.

The paintings include 21 sections, running along the dike wall of the Red River, with various topics: honoring Vietnam’s history through patterns of the Ly, Tran, Le, and Nguyen dynasties; typical patterns on brocade, ceramic paintings of Hanoi by Vietnamese and international children; and contemporary paintings by Vietnamese and foreign artists.

The road was recognized as the world longest ceramic painting last week.

Hoa Binh Park: UNESCO in 2000 presented Hanoi the “City for Peace” title. This park was built to be a symbol of peace and to be a green lung of Hanoi. The park is based in Xuan Dinh commune, Tu Liem district, totaling 20 hectares. The total investment for this park is over 282 billion dong ($14.8 million).
