Senior Lieutenant-General Nguyen Huy Hieu recalled about the Ho Chi Minh campaign. At that time, he was only 28.

The Museum in cooperation with the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism chose the most famous ten battles in Vietnam’s history for the exhibition, include: Bach Dang (938 and 1288), Nhu Nguyet (1077), Dong Bo Dau (1258), Chi Lang Xuong Giang (1427), Rach Gam Xoai Mut (1785), Ngoc Hoi Dong Da (1789), Dien Bien Phu campaign (1954), Dien Bien Phu on the air battle (1972) and Ho Chi Minh campaign (1975).

The exhibition introduces more than 500 pictures, documents and items, comprising invaluable antiques such as weapons in the 10th, 13th and 18th centuries.

The exhibition opened on October 4 at the Vietnam Museum of Military History, 28A Dien Bien Phu, Hanoi.

Wood stakes used in the Bach Dang battle in 1288, the strategic battle conducted by Tran Hung Dao which put an end to the 3rd war of resistance against Mongol-Yuan invaders.

The binoculars used by General Van Tien Dung in the Central Highlands campaign, Ho Chi Minh campaign 1975 and the bandanna used by former President Le Duc Anh from 1964 to 1975. During this time, Le Duc Anh was the Chief of Staff, Deputy Commander of the Southern Liberation Troops, Commander of the Military Zone 9, Deputy Commander of the Ho Chi Minh campaign.
