Karin and the Quartet from Japan will perform in Hanoi December 8-9, 2010

Japanese and Vietnamese artists will collaborate to present a concert in Hanoi next month.

The event, co-hosted by the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam and the Youth Theater, will feature performances of both modern and traditional music from Japanese harpist, Karin, and her Quartet.

Karin, who was dubbed the Best Debutant of the Year 2009 in Japan, will lead the group with her distinctive voice, accompanied by

the brilliant sounds of her 25- stringed koto (Japanese harp).

The band will be accompanied by 16-string Vietnamese harpist Vo Van Anh (aka Vanessa Vo) as well as the voice of Thu Huyen, an up-and-coming cheo (Vietnamese folk opera) singer.

The show will be held December 8 - 9 at the Youth Theater, 11 Ngo Thi Nham Street.

Tickets are available at the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, 27 Quang Trung Street starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 26.
