A snapshot from an online clip in which Quang Ninh police instructed two nude prostitutes to remain unclothed while they issued them criminal citations. The footage has provoked public protests and official condemnation.

Six officers in the northern province of Quang Ninh have been punished for conduct unbecoming an officer.

Their behavior came to light when footage that one of the officers recorded on a cell phone (allegedly for evidentiary purposes) surfaced on the internet.

The film showed police instructing two sex workers to remain naked while they issued criminal citations.

The footage provoked public protests last month after it began circulating on the internet.

On November 19 all of them were suspended and put under investigation.

An investigation later revealed that the clip was recorded in a prostitution raid by Cam Pha Town’s police on June 29 at the Quang Dung Hotel in Cam Thuy Ward.

However, so far it’s still unknown about who had posted the clip online.

Five of the officers have since been demoted. Another was officially censored and transferred to another job.

They were all found to have violated procedures and displayed an “uncultured attitude," local newspaper Tuoi Tre reported.
