Vietnamese police said Monday they have arrested two people suspected of posting online two clips filming a police raid on Hanoi’s most popular night club in 2007.

 

The clips, which were posted on the video-sharing website YouTube on December 15, were kept as professional materials and not allowed to be published, according to the Anti-Crime Department under the Ministry of Public Security .

 

With a total length of 22 minutes, the footage filmed the police’s raid on New Century on April 28, 2007, including armed forces deploying measures to control criminals.

 

The raid then found more than 100 ecstasy tablets. Nearly 240 out of 1,200 guests tested positive for the drug, and 30 admitted they had taken the drug inside the club that night.

 

Investigation by the anti-hi-tech crimes department later found that they were posted by the administrators of the website HuanPromedia.tk with the involvement of several other  people, according to Le Huy Hop, deputy chief of the department (C44).

 

So far police have arrested two suspects who are graduates of Hanoi-based Radio and Television College and were working as freelance cameramen, the official said.

 

The duo are also administrators of the above mentioned website.

 

Investigations are still underway to find out who gave the clips to them.
