– A 50-year-old woman in the southern province of Binh Duong
has been accused for poisoning dozens of people to steal their assets. At least
two victims died.

Long An province’s police have finalized their investigation
over the case of Dao Thi Ngung, who was accused of murder and robbery.

According to Long An police, from 2008-2009 Ngung poisoned
nearly 20 people at many pagodas in southern provinces of HCM City,
Binh Duong, Long An, Ben Tre, An Giang, Tien Giang, etc. to steal their money
and jewelry. Two people died.

Ngung declared that she disguised herself as a begging woman
and a benighted traveler to shelter at pagodas, where she made the acquaintance
with Buddhists. She invited them a glass of water, with poison, and robbed
their assets once they fainted.

The woman was arrested in October 2009 by Long An police
after causing dozens of poisoning and robbery cases in many southern and
central provinces.

Two victims died and the remaining suffered from serious
injuries.

Police said Ngung used poison which is the mixture of
