Vietnam Next Top Model winners in photos

Khieu Thi Huyen Trang, 21, from Bac Giang Province won the first Viet Nam’s Next Top Model competition on January 23 in HCM City.

Trang had not been the clear winner in previous shows but in the final show, she performed outstandingly and overcome the two other competitors to win the title.

“I was surprised by her excellent performance on the final night. She deserves the prize,” said fashion designer Huy Vo, a judge on the show.

Trang, standing 1.78m tall and measuring 81-63.5-93.5, will sign a two year contract with CA Model worth 50,000 USD. She will receive a scholarship to take a model training course at the Wilhelmina Models Company. She also won a diamond ring worth VND200 million ($10,000) and a Piaggio LX125 motorbike.

“I am so happy about the prizes. This is my gift to my mother, who supported me during the past few months,” the winner said.

For the past five months, the program aired every Thursday night. On the show, 18 Vietnamese women, between the ages of 18 and 25, competed to become Vietnam’s Next Top Model. The three best competitors entered the final.

The final show opened with a performance by 12 contestants and a jury member-model Ha Anh. After that, three top contestants – Huyen Trang, Thu Thuy and Tuyet Lan – began their competition by performing on the catwalk. Thu Thuy was rejected.
