Police from the Ministry of Public Security Friday said they arrested a man as he received a package containing a kilo of cannabis sent from Canada by post to Hanoi.

 

Pham Van Chinh, a 37-year-old native of the northern province of Quang Ninh, was arrested for illegal transportation of drugs, police said.

 

Following Chinh’s arrest, police also took 68-year-old Pham Thi Tai, also from Quang Ninh, into custody on suspcicion of involvement in the trafficking.

 

The case is being investigated further, police said.
