VietNamNet Bridge – The main actor and actress of “Bay Rong” (Clash) will present their film at the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival – SFIAAFF in the USA from March 10-20.


According to Van, she and Johny Tri Nguyen will go to Los Angeles and San Francisco to attend press conferences and to introduce “Clash”.

Written by Vietnamese-American Johnny Nguyen who also stars in the film with Ngo Thanh Van, it is a martial arts blow-out about a beautiful mercenary who must perform a series of missions for her crime lord boss to save her kidnapped daughter. Complications set in when she falls for her fellow mercenary whose hidden agenda threatens her own.

Ngo Thanh Van is a dancer, singer, actress, and model. She and Johny Tri Nguyen played together in two movies, “The Rebel” and “Clash”.

Johnny Tri Nguyen is a Vietnamese American film and television actor, stunt double, and martial artist. His acting roles include the martial arts films Tom-Yum-Goong and Cradle 2 the Grave. His work as a stunt double includes the role of Spider-Man in Spider-Man 2 and as the Green Goblin in the first feature film. Johnny has been working in the Vietnamese film industry to produce The Rebel, a period action drama set in 1920s French-colonial Vietnam, which he also co-directed, co-wrote and stars in.

SFIAAFF is the US’ largest showcase for new Asian American and Asian films, annually presenting approximately 130 works in San Francisco, Berkeley and San Jose, USA. Since 1982, the SFIAAFF has been a launching point for Asian American independent filmmakers as well as a source for new Asian cinema.
