The first runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2010 pageant, Vu Thi Hoang My, will represent Vietnam at this year’s Miss Universe beauty pageant in Sao Paulo, Brazil this September.

The above information has been officially confirmed by Pham Dinh Thang, vice director of the Performing Arts Agency.

Thang said the agency has approved and licensed Hoang My to participate in the pageant at the request of Hoan Vu Company, which holds the right to send Vietnamese representative to Miss Universe.

Earlier, in its press release, Hoan Vu Company didn’t disclose the Vietnamese competitor.

Vu Thi Hoang My was born in Dong Nai in 1988. With the perfect body statistics of 85-65-89, the 1.71-m beauty has been appreciated for a mix of Western and Eastern charm, intelligence and excellent English communication skills. She is currently studying at RMIT International University.

At the Miss Vietnam 2010, Hoang My was highly appreciated and she was a brilliant candidate for the beauty queen title. However, she won the first runner-up position.

The 60^th Miss Universe will attract over 80 contestants. The final night will take place on September 12. In 2008, Vietnam’s Thuy Lam entered the top 15 of Miss Universe.
