VietNamNet Bridge – The Cong or Military football club has got Quoc Vuong, who has just left prison, from Song Lam Nghe An.

The Cong’s managers went to Nghe An on September 24 to negotiate with Song Lam Nghe An’s officials to buy Quoc Vuong, who has just been released from prison after nearly three years in jail for match fixing. Previously, The Cong paid a lot of money to help Quoc Vuong deal with that case.

Quoc Vuong’s contract with Song Lam Nghe An is effective till 2009 in theory, but according to the Labor Code, if one loses his citizen’s rights any civil contracts signed previously are invalid.

As a result, The Cong will only have to pay Song Lam Nghe AN around VND300 million (compensation for training fees). However, it will pay around VND2 billion to Quoc Vuong.

Quoc Vuong will meet his new teammates in early October but he can’t play for The Cong right now because he is still serving a five-year suspension imposed by the Vietnam Football Federation, which goes till 2012. If Quoc Vuong asks for commutation, he must serve at least half of the suspension or 2.5 years, but at present, he has just served a little more than 1 year.

Before taking Quoc Vuong, The Cong also bought the top striker of Song Lam Nghe An, Cong Vinh, with a 3 year contract. The Cong also plans to buy halfback Minh Duc, also from Song Lam Nghe An.
