Thailand had a hard-fought match Tuesday against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea at the T&T Cup, scoring the winning goal in injury time to win 1-0 at Hanoi’s My Dinh Stadium.

The Thai footballers dominated the match from the start thanks to the dynamic play of midfielders Thong Lao, Surat Sukha and Suchao Nutnum.

But the Korean side stepped up its efforts with several attacks led by playmaker Pak Nam Chol.

However, both teams returned to the locker rooms scoreless after the first half.

In the second half, the turning point occurred in the 76th minute when Korean striker Kim Kum Il was sent off for overreacting after being tackled from behind by Lao of Thailand.

The Thai team soon capitalized two minutes into added time, as Patiparn converted a pass from striker Teerathep for the winner.
