VietNamNet Bridge – The Portuguese coach of the national football squad, Henrique Calisto, said that he has created an ideal formation for the AFF Cup, the most important football event in Southeast Asia.

After the HCM City Cup, Calisto did not make any changes. For the most part, he used the same players in two recent matches against Singapore and North Korea.

“I’ve found out the ideal formation for Vietnam at the AFF Cup this December. If you pay a little attention, you can understand my team. Certainly, I can’t entirely feel secure about my current choice because any coach and any team has standby plans,” the coach said.

It seems that the formation that Calisto used in the match against North Korea at the T&T Cup is the ideal team. Accordingly, the goalkeeper is Hong Son, with four fullbacks - Viet Cuong, Phuoc Tu, Minh Duc, Quang Thanh, and perhaps Nhu Thanh if this player recovers from injuries, and halfbacks - Tai Em, Minh Chau, Thanh Luong, Vu Phong or Tan Tai, Viet Thang, and striker Cong Vinh.

Regarding the AFF Cup, Calisto appeared satisfied with his preparation. “Players have understood many things. They are adapting themselves to the playing system that I’m building. After each match, we get a little better and I think I’m heading to the AFF Cup in the right direction,” he said.

In recent drillings, Calisto trained attacking methods for his strikers and halfbacks. Footballers practiced with positive attitudes and injuries suffered by Bao Khanh or Viet Thang were not serious. All of players are able to play in the match against Thailand on November 16.
