Dong Tam Long An to test new Swedish coach at TV cup

V-League two-time champions Dong Tam Long An will test Swede coach Stefan Hasson before signing a contract with him for the championship next year.

The 51-year-old coach, who started training the youth team last Friday, will take the team to the International football tournament - Binh Duong Television Cup from November 27 to December 7.

Last month, former national team’s left wingback Tran Cong Minh, who was appointed as an interim coach to the V-League team last two months, is joining in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s coach training course.

Foreign players fill ranks of 18 Viet Nam volleyball teams

Twenty-four foreign volleyballers have registered to compete in the second stage of the National Volleyball Championship, the organising committee said yesterday.

It’s the fourth year that Viet Nam Volleyball Federation (VVF) has allowed teams to sign two foreign players, with one allowed on the court at any given time.

The VVF’s general secretary Ha Manh Thu said the number of foreign players will increase as teams are recruiting more foreigners.

Currently, 18 men’s and women’s teams have contracted with abroad players in their team line-up for the championship.

To recruit foreign volleyballers, teams must have to pay around US$1,500 per month, a figure that most team representatives say is manageable.
