wo VN referees to work at ASEAN Football Federation Cup; All-star tennis tournament delayed after flooding

The National All-Star Tennis Championship will be delayed until November 28 as facilities in host Vinh Phuc Province were damaged after recent flooding.

The National All-Star Tennis Championship will be delayed until November 28 as facilities in host Vinh Phuc Province were damaged after recent flooding.

The sponsors of the event have also withdrawn.

The sudden pull-out is causing difficulty for the Viet Nam Tennis Federation. They decided to move the event to Ha Noi’s Sao Mai Tennis Court and delay the tournament in the hope of regaining sponsorship. The change of venue will, however, affect the Ha Noi Tennis Open which is scheduled to be held from November 25-29.

“If the national tournament is on November 28, the Ha Noi Open must take place earlier,” said Vu The Phiet, general secretary of the Ha Noi Tennis Federation.

Two VN referees to work at ASEAN Football Federation Cup

Two Vietnamese referees will go to the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Cup this December.

Phung Dinh Dung will referee Group A matches in Indonesia from December 5-10 with assistant referee Nguyen Ngoc Ha.

Dung is one of four Vietnamese referees recognised by FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation. Ha is also recognised by FIFA as an assistant referee.

After the AFF tournament, organising officials will decide if the duo can continue to referee based on their performance.
