VietNamNet Bridge – The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) is seeking a chief for its delegation to the upcoming AFF Cup 2008 after it failed to lure two famous businessmen.

Both Doan Nguyen Duc, Chairman of Hoang Anh Gia Lai football club, and Do Quang Hien, Chairman of T&T Hanoi club, refused to lead VFF’s team to the AFF Cup this December.

Experts say that businessmen like Duc and Hien are more appropriate than VFF officials for the post of delegation chief, so the association wanted to find an independent nominee for the position.

Duc refused VFF’s invitation but he said he would fly to Thailand in his own aircraft to watch the Vietnamese squad compete in three matches in the qualifier round.

It is said that VFF planned to assign its Secretary General Tran Quoc Tuan to assume this position but Tuan will be too busy. It has been whispered that the VFF Vice Chairman may lead the Vietnamese team to the AFF Cup this year.
