VietNamNet Bridge – The Vietnam Open Badminton Tournament or Yonex – Sunrise Cup 2008 will be held at the Phan Dinh Phung Sports Centre in HCM City from December 7-12 and will have 160 players from 11 countries and territories.

Athletes, including 42 players from Vietnam, will play in five categories: men’s single, women’s single, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.

Vietnam’s male player Nguyen Tien Minh (the world 19^th player) is selected as the number-one seed for the men’s single category. Bao Duc – Hong Gam (the world 121^st mixed doubles) is the second seed of the mixed doubles category.

The total bonus is US $50,000, including US $3,750 for the men’s and women’s champion. This is the first time the International Badminton Confederation applies the equal bonus for male and female winners.
