Football tournament to mark Hanoi’s birthday

| Vietnam, AC Milan, Japan and the Republic of Korea will compete at a friendly tournament in Hanoi in October next year. |
In the first quarter of 2009, the Sports General Department and Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will make plans to organize the international tournament called “Thang Long Football Cup” to mark the 1,000th year of the establishment of Hanoi, formerly known as Thang Long. The tournament is expected to cost between VND50 billion and VND60 billion (US$2.9-3.5 million). The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the VFF are seeking sponsors for the competition.
