VietNamNet Bridge – Besides brothers Emil and Patrick Le Giang, eight other young overseas Vietnamese footballers will also try out with the U22 national football squad.

This morning, the chief coach of the U22 squad, Mai Duc Chung, tested Ngo Tuan Anh, from the U20 Dresden squad. Tuan Anh, 20, left Vietnam for Germany when he was a child, but Tuan Anh still keeps his Vietnamese nationality. If this player passes the test, he can join the U22 squad in 2009.

During his Christmas holiday, Tuan Anh will have one week to show his talent to Mai Duc Chung, who will test other overseas Vietnamese footballers.

Chung said he will see other overseas Vietnamese players in January 2009. So far, the coach has received applications from ten players including brothers Emil and Patrick Le Giang, Tuan Anh, Steven Vo, Nguyen Quang Nam, Nguyen Christopher, Do Le Thanh Nam, Phan Truong Mike, Phan Manh, and Chau Norman. They are all very young players, from the ages of 16 to 21 years old and are players for younger football clubs in Germany, Slovakia, and Poland.
