VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese-American striker Lee Nguyen, who is trying out for the Hoang Anh Gia Lai football club, impressed the club with a hat-trick in a friendly match against Binh Dinh on Wednesday at the Ham Rong Sports Centre in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai.

In 60 minutes, Lee Nguyen scored three goals and assisted on another goal by Minh Thien.

“Lee Nguyen is an example of a professional footballer. I felt that he was not too tired after the long flight from Denmark to HCM City and one more hour on the plane from HCM City to Pleiku,” commented Hoang Anh Gia Lai’s Technical Manager Nguyen Van Vinh.

Though the Vietnamese-American striker can’t speak Vietnamese, he can understand some Vietnamese sentences. The striker, who played for PSV Eindhoven, has been able to quickly assimilate the ideas of the coaching board and play in harmony with his colleagues.
