Beside two key athletes Nguyen Huu Viet - Southeast Asian gold medalist in 100m breast-stroke and Do Duc Long, the National team includes Vo Thai Nguyen, Nguyen Ngoc Tan, Nguyen Van Ty, Nguyen Thanh Hai, Tran Ngoc Bao anh Nguyen Tran Nhat Nam.

The team will also have the participation of Vu Thuy Duong from Hanoi and Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen in June.

After Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday, the team will start their five-month training session in Kunming, China to prepare for several big events this year such as the World Championships in Italy in July, the third Asian Indoor Games in Vietnam in October and Sea Games in Laos in December.
